"Unbroken Will" - The Extraordinary Courage of an Ordinary Man

"It moves every love fiber in you!"

"Strengthens our faith and determination"

Leopold Engleitner was given a choice - renounce your faith or faith death in a Nazi concentration camp. The Austrian chose his faith in Jehovah and suffered at the hands of the Nazis in three different concentration camps.

When Austria joined the German Reich in 1938, Jehovah's Witnesses (bibelforscher) were rounded up and (unlike their Jewish counterparts) given a choice. They would be allowed to get out of the camps if they signed a paper - turning their back on their religion and joining the Nazis. The Austrian Witnesses, including Engleitner, refused to do so, with many losing their lives.

This film charts their story and details Engleitner's own horrific ordeal. As one of the world's oldest concentration camp survivors the Austrian Leopold Engleitner, born 1905, returns to the places where it all happened and talks about his exciting life. This touching and impressive documentary recounts the experiences of a humble man who, because he was a bibelforscher (Jehovah's Witness) and objected to military service, had to endure the brutal machinery of the Hitler regime in 3 concentration camps (Buchenwald, Niederhagen and Ravensbrück). This film includes original film material from the years 1896 to 1945.

What noted historians have said:

"Brilliantly researched and produced to perfection, Rammerstorfer succeeds in telling the life story of a man whose memory spans the whole of the 20th century."
Professor Dr. Walter Manoschek, Vienna University

"This film is an important archive and Leopold's story is compelling. What is so striking as the narrative progresses and Leopold tells us his story is that his face is full of peace in spite of the horrors of his terrible experience."
Professor Christine King, Staffordshire University
